Before & After - with digital editing

These before and after images of digital editing for amateur snapshot photos in a scrapbook project show that the original image had an overall yellow tone, taking away from the quality of the image and capturing the beauty of the moment. The skin tone and background were too yellow, which took away from the bright color of the traditional South Asian clothing the bride wore on that day. The golden delicate embroidery on the clothing was also too yellow. The edited image looks to be of a professional photographer with a digital SLR camera that can reflect the moment.

Photo in a scrapbook project

Here is one of the photos I edited to be included in a scrapbook project for a five year wedding anniversary that I completed for the bride to gift to the groom. This photo was edited for brightness and contrast. The work of the original photographer is perfect in posing, background props, lighting, and capturing the facial expressions. It made a wonderful addition to the scrapbook project as provided by the bride 5 years later. The bride gave permission to show the image here. She is wearing traditional red on her wedding day for one of her many ceremonies. A traditional South Asian wedding might last up to a week or more in Eastern countries. Here in the West, there were 3 days of feasts and many other pre-wedding celebrations such as henna ceremonies and dholak (drum) parties with singing, beating the traditional wedding drums, dancing, sitting on the floor, eating, chatting, and partying long into the night.
